SAN JOSE, Calif. — April 1, 2026 — Harmonic (NASDAQ: HLIT) today announced that TDF, a major broadcast infrastructure operator in France, has modernized its terrestrial broadcast network with Harmonic’s XOS Advanced Media Processor and ProStream® X Video Stream Processor. Harmonic’s media processing solutions boost TDF’s channel capacity while ensuring exceptional video quality and optimal bandwidth efficiency across its digital terrestrial television (DTT) network.
“As demand for broadcast services continues to grow, we needed a more efficient way to expand our channel offering without increasing bandwidth allocation,” said Nathalie Coupé, senior engineer specialized in audiovisual headend systems design at TDF. “Harmonic’s XOS media processor allows us to elevate channel capacity while making more efficient use of our available spectrum. Its resilient and flexible architecture provides a strong foundation for the continued evolution of our terrestrial broadcast network.”
With Harmonic’s media processing solutions, TDF can now support six linear HD channels — BFM TV, CNEWS, CSTAR, NOVO19, T18 and GULLI — within the same multiplex bandwidth that previously carried five HD channels. Harmonic’s media processing solutions ensure maximum resiliency and uninterrupted service through dual-site architecture spanning geographically separated headend facilities.
The software-based XOS media processor leverages AI-driven compression and Harmonic’s PURE Compression Engine™ to deliver superior video quality at the lowest possible bitrates. The XOS processor supports HEVC encoding and 1080p source processing with HDR Dolby Vision, providing TDF with a future-ready solution for evolving its broadcast headend. Harmonic’s ProStream X stream processor provides remote statistical multiplexing, allowing bandwidth sharing across multiple sites for efficient channel delivery.
“Harmonic’s XOS Advanced Media Processor and ProStream X provide TDF with the performance and efficiency needed to modernize its broadcast infrastructure,” said Tony Berthaud, senior vice president, sales, EMEA and APAC at Harmonic. “By leveraging the XOS media processor and our PURE compression technology, TDF can deliver more broadcast channels, optimize bandwidth usage and prepare its infrastructure for future broadcast innovations.”
Harmonic will showcase its media processing innovations at the 2026 NAB Show, April 19–22, in booth W2831. More information about Harmonic and the company’s solutions is available at www.harmonicinc.com.
