As CTO and Head of Strategy for MediaKind, Mark Russell leads technical and business strategy, strategic business development, M&A, and executive support for key customer and partner relationships.
Mark brings over 20 years of experience in media technology. He was at Microsoft for over ten years leading product development for the Mediaroom TV platform and Playready DRM. During that period Mark oversaw the development both products from incubation to scale businesses. While at Microsoft, Mark participated and lead several strategic initiatives on the future of video entertainment including the emergence of Cloud technologies and as-a-Service business models. He came to Ericsson Media Solutions (now MediaKind) in 2013 with the acquisition of the Mediaroom business. Since joining EMS, Mark has lead strategy for the entire portfolio. Mark has a computer science degree from Santa Clara University and has taken executive courses in Finance and Innovation Management from Harvard Business School and Stanford Executive Education.
